Haywood Landscapes is now Employee Owned!

We are delighted to announce that Haywood Landscapes is now an Employee Owned Business.

From our foundation built by Andy and Rob Wiggins 34 years ago, we have been designing and building beautiful gardens throughout Kent and beyond. Over that time, it was important for us to establish an unparalleled reputation for quality, service and stunning landscapes – which we believe we have done. But we didn’t do it alone...

We have been supported by a fantastic garden design and management team, plus three crews of committed and skilled garden landscapers - and our success as a company has been a result of the dedication, skill and hard work of the whole workforce. In recognition of this and to fully harness the future potential of our team and the business, Andy and Rob have set up and sold the business to an Employee Ownership Trust. Through the trust, all employees have a stake in the business and share in the profits on a fair basis.

Why did we do this?

- Successive Governments have promoted employee ownership for a number of years because politicians recognise its potential contribution to the economy.

- Staff tend to be more committed and entrepreneurial, knowing they have a direct impact on profits!

- Their direct involvement helps companies to be more successful, competitive, profitable and sustainable.

Andy and Rob will continue in their day-to-day operational roles within the new structure, with Andy commenting:

“It’s a strange feeling to be loosening the reigns a bit after so many years but it feels great to be able to empower and fully reward the team and it’s the right move to lay the foundations for the future of the business”.
